I see that you have purchased AVG Secure VPN. Please be informed that AVG Secure VPN is not a Protection Program. It is an application which enables you to connect to the internet via secure VPN servers using an encrypted tunnel to protect your online activity from eavesdropping. Also, it will not prevent a System Crash.
Since you have mentioned that your icons are missing and there are no System Restore points, the issue doesn't seem to be a System Crash. I suggest you contact Microsoft regarding the issue.
I purchased AVG about a month ago but tonight, I think my computer crashed! All of my windows programs are gone! I can access the internet but other than the internet and AVG all of my other icons are gone! I ran AVG to see if it detected anything and it didn't find anything. Where did my Windows and other icons go… I tried system restore but it says I do not have a restore point or history. What happened and how do I correct it?
