Hi David,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Usually, AVG services will be running in background & it doesn't interfere with loading AVG Secure browser.
In this regard, please wait for sometime for all the services to be loaded on your computer after restarting & then try accessing AVG Secure browser.
Reason being, there might be a delay for all the dependancy services to load at startup.
Not the issue - it is while services are loading that Windows goes from Desktop to Blue screen and reboots saying "memory conflict" If I stop AVG loading it is stable and I can rum AVG Secure Browser
Since the Browser update yesterday my system crashes on startup as AVG loads in the background. I have had to prevent it loading in order to use the computer. If I am using AVG Browser do I need AVG running in the back ground?
David, please reset AVG Secure Browser to default settings and check with the issue.
Follow the below steps to reset the browser.
1) Click ⋮ Menu (three dots) in the top-right corner of the screen, then select Settings.
2) Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen, and click Advanced.
3) Scroll to the bottom of the screen again and click Restore settings to their original defaults, then select Reset settings to confirm.
Keep us posted.
