Hi Bala, Slightly does not mean from 100 Mips to 350 Kbits… Last week, slow down was barely noticeable. But, Speed fell down abruptely this week! There must have been a change somewhere in AVG softwares, in the way it works, selects the optimal server or else. Even AVG internet security services are affected when AVG VPN is on.
I have been with AVG for years, and never have I had a problem like this. I inderstand there might be a bugged update or a bug of some sort, AVG staff usually find solutions for aknowledge problems. But, if this is the expected behavior (80 to 90% speed drop), which I do not believe, and that there is no¸announcement of a planned fix for a proper operation of your VPN, (which I already cancelled automatic renewa just in casel), I will look for another global solution and cancel all my AVG softs and will not recommend AVG anymore.

VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server.
Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
You can change to the other locations available within AVG Secure VPN and check whether it improves the internet connection speed.

I get terrible internet cut after using avg vpn. The speed is cut in half. What gives. I might buy a new router and manage it in there.
