The scheduled scan freeze problem

Encountered the problem again with a manual scan this time.  This is only FOUR WEEKS between the last time I encountered this problem.  Every time this happens, I have to remove the program completely and then go through and install and set the program back up (preferences, exceptins, etc.).  Here's a screenshot of where it got stuck:

Earlier this year I had an issue where the scheduled scan was stuck at a certain percentage and even killing the tasks and restarting the program, or restarting the computer completely, wouldn't fix it.  The only solution, according to what I found online, was to completely remove AVG with a removal tool and reinstall.  Since then, I've experienced the same issue four separate times, which is really irksome because removing AVG and reinstalling takes a lot of time, I have to go through and reset every setting because the removal tool wipes them, set all the exceptions again, etc.  This is really frustrating, I've been a user of AVG for years, but I'm considering switching if this continues.  PLEASE FIX IT.

This AVG scan hangs at 1% is a known issue and the first troubleshooting step is to perform repair of AVG program by following the instructions as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and restart your computer and then check with the scan.
If you haven't followed repair of AVG please perform it and let us know the status of it.
