Second, have you tried connecting to a different VPN server and checked if the issue persists?
Also, try connecting to an alternate network connection (a different Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot) and check for the issue.

the VPN is blocking my WiFi. I have to turn it off often to get the internet back on
