'there are no active components'

Dear AVG "Guru",
That article explains how to renew my Internet connection, IF I HAVE LOST CONNECTIVITY.

That has nothing to do with my problem, since I have FULL connectivity.
My problem, as I described it above, is that when following the directions in the link
provided by AVG (see link in my original post) - that is, when I clicked on the link AND
IT CONNECTED (because I do have connectivity), and then I downloaded and ran the suggested program (using my active Internet connectivity), I was unable to get the
program to 'Repair' my AVG product because IT CLAIMED that I had no Internet
connection.

I hope this helps you get back to solving the base problem:
I have a paid-up license for AVG Internet Security 2014 (till 2016), but when I open the AVG window it says "There are no active components".

Sandra, Have a look @ this article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?q=no+Internet+connectivity&urlname=Restore-Internet-connectivity&l=en_US).

I saw advice at
https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?q=avg+2014+%22no+active+components&urlname=No-active-components-in-AVG&l=en_US
that said to open the downloads page, run the downloaded file, and click 'Repair'.
This does NOT work - when I run it, it claims that I have no Internet connectivity!! (Duh… how did I just download the file that I am running?)

So, what do I do now??

Thanks!

Sandra, Last sentence in the original post link… In case the issue persists, please reinstall your AVG as described in the article Reinstall AVG (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en_US&urlname=How-to-reinstall-AVG).
