I booted up this morning, and everything was activated again, before I could take action above in your message.
Something is de-activating AVG on me, after the morning update/scan. I'm doing a whole computer scan now, just to make sure I don't have some kind of trojan doing it, 78% complete with no alarms as yet.
I can keep repairing/re-activating until the cows come home, but if something is de-activating me willy-nilly without my noticing, that means something is getting thru, and causing this. The only downloading I do is for updates to Windows, Spybot and AVG, little else.
I am on Facebook, which is starting to give me worries, but I also logon to FB with my laptop, and have not had any problem there (Win7 (64-bit) SP1, 8gb RAM, AVG Free and ZoneAlarm, Spybot, no MS firewall/anti-virus). And have logged on using the alternate desktop (same config, except larger monitors) and no ill effects.
Scan is complete, and no threats found.
So the question is, what is causing this? And it's just on this machine, no others. I realize the chances of long-distance trouble-shooting (having been a Navy Radioman in the ol' days, and trying to do just that), so any guesses?

Win7 (64-bit) SP1
AVG AntiVirus Free version
24gb RAM
Zone-Alarm (firewall)
No Microsoft firewall/antivirus pgms running
Spybot running
I wrote about a week ago, having this problem. I got a response via email (remover, and re-install), which I did. The problem was fixed, and all was well.
This morning, I got updated, and scanned with no problems.
I just got the warning notice that I needed to activate AVG, pulled up the pgm and once again I am sitting with the warning "There are no active components"
What the heck is de-activating my AVG?
Any help appreciated.
Tks in advance.
Paul
