Threat Removed Sound won't stop

I have the same problem. That chime is horrible. The repair solution from windows doesn't work.

I kept getting an AVG pop-up in the lower right corner that a threat had been removed.  I went into AVG and managed to stop the pop-up from coming up, but the chime sound that accompanied it is still there.  I have tried going into AVG, and sounds on my computer, but can't stop it.  I have windows7.

Please advise.
