Hello Steve,
We would like to thank you so much for the feedback. In order to analyze this issue, we request you to provide log files by following the instructions in the email we have just sent to you. Thank you.
This is not very helpful. There is a UI problem making the proiduct very hard to use. Please pass this along to engineering.
Changing screen resolution to make one applications interface readable is rarely a good idea, and in this case,, even setting the resolution to maximum text size temporarily does not help the lack of usability in the results window.
- Path to infected file is compressed in the Results window, and does not expand until the mouse is moved over each part of the path from left to right on each individual line of results, temporarily expanding the text.
- There is no ability to select one result and then choose "Reveal in Finder" to take me to the Folder in which the infected file is located.
- There seems to be no central log of this reported information that I could view in the Console or with a text editor to allow me to see dozens (or even hundreds) of result reported files at once. I could be missing this--if there is one, please advise.
- I can't see any value in the application as a result. In my case, It has found primarily email attachments containing malware that affects Windows which are not a concern. Making certain backup directories or email attachment paths excluded is non-trivial as a resul of the poor interface. Disregarding that or deleting these paths or files would be easy with a well-designed user interface.
- Looking for a new AV program as a result.

I hope this makes the issue clearer.
Hello Steve,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
We suggest you to check the screen resolution of your Mac computer and see if it set to the recommended settings. Or you can change the resolution and see if you are able to improve the size of the AVG threat report window.
Thank you.
Just installed and scanned with AVG Antivirus/Mac on elCapitan and the Threat report window seems pretty useless. It is hard to see the compressed file paths of the reported threats, and there is no "reveal in finder" option. Most of these are found in Mail, Word doc attachments or email spam that have no effect on a Mac anyway, but I'd like to be able to easily review them before just telling AVG to delete or quarantine them.
Is there a log file I can review or some way to make the threat report window bigger? Odd that it is so tiny on a 27" iMac.
So to confirm, results are NOT kept in a log file anywhere on the system for review? There is no diagnostic option for the program?
I'm not sure going through a uninstall and reinstall is going to do anything really.
Since the answer to my simple question "IS THERE A LOG FILE I CAN REVIEW WITH THESE RESULTS IN IT?" seems to be NO, I have removed the product and decided to look for one with a well-designed User Interface.
*I* want to review my results. I have no desire to share log files with you if the information I need to address threats on my system is not readily available and usable BY ME to address those threats,. Thanks.

Hello Steve,
We do understand your concern. This interface issue might have caused due to an corrupted update or failed service. Reinstalling should make the interface work as usual. You can try the reinstall once and then run the AVG scan and see if the threats are detected again.
Thank you.
