Threat secured keeps appearing for the same file

Hello Stephen,

I apologize for the inconvenience. Please check for the files OStotoSoft or DriverTalent in the Control panel. If it is there please uninstall it from your computer, restart the PC and scan your computer to check the status. If the issue persists, please provide the screenshot of threat detection to assist further.

I keep getting an AVG "Threat secured" message popping up, saying "we've moved updatefile.exe to your Quarantine because it was infected with Win32:Kolab-EY [Trj]. The path it's in is C:\Program Files (x86)\OStotoSoft\DriverTalent\updater\appf\updatefile.exe and if I try to delete it (or the folder), I get a message saying  I need Administrator permission - but I am the sole user of my computer and I am the administrator.
Although the file shows up when I view Quarantine, the file hasn't been moved, it's still there and the pop-up keeps reappearing.

At the same time as posting here, I contacted the support team, who eventually put me on to a technician. He accessed my machine and somehow deleted the most of appropriate files/folders. At the time I didn't realise that this was all part of an app called Driver Talent, which I had not installed, but maybe came with the computer. Anyway, he sorted it and then I cleaned up the rest of the files/folders and all has been good since then.
Quiestion - why did AVG not do its job and MOVE the files/folders/whatever to Quarentine?

Hi Stephen,

Without me being able to see what is happening it is hard to estimate what the situation is.

As per your description, it seems like the files were not being deleted due to Administrator Permission Issues. I understand that you are the sole User of the computer, however, in case of Administrator permission, you need to check with Windows Support.

Sorry for the trouble, Jan.

Have you followed the above suggested steps? If the issue persists, please provide the screenshot https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-create-a-screenshot&supportType=home  of threat detection to assist further.
