Threat secured keeps popping up

Hi Larry,

We would like to investigate about the threat popup that you received.
Could you please provide the screenshot of AVG threat detection popup by clicking on 'see details' from it?
You can post the screenshot by clicking on 'Image' symbol from 'Answer' field.
We also request you to explain when does the popup appear on your PC?
Is it while browsing or as soon as you log into windows and see the desktop screen or while visiting a particular website?
Please mention whether you are using AVG Antivirus free or paid AVG Internet Security.

I have a problem similar to several other threads I have read here. Nothing I try works.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, Larry.

However, we need to check which AVG shield is making the detection & it's location/file path.
Hence, we request you to click on "See details" on the threat message & share us the screenshot again.
Thank you for understanding in advance!

Kindly make sure if all the basic components are enabled.
And try uninstalling and reinstalling the AVG Antivirus Free.

Did as recommended. No more "Threat Secured" popup.

Now when I hover over the AVG icon, a red exclamation text box appears that says "AntiVirus Free: You are unprotected". Do I just ignore it?

Thank you for updating the status, Larry.

Please let us know if the issue started occurring after you added the website to the exception list.
Also, did you disable any components/shields of your AVG Antivirus Free?
Awaiting your response.

I believe it started after I added the site. I cannot say for sure that it wasn't doing it before because the message is only visible if you hover over the icon.
If I disabled any components/shields, it was by mistake. I don't think I did.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, Larry.

We request you to submit the detected website for False-positive analysis using this link.
Once you've submitted the false-positive report, our concerned team will analyze the website & if found harmless, they'll whitelist it right away.
Meanwhile, kindly add the detected website to the AVG exception list as mentioned in this article.
Thank you for understanding in advance!
