"Threat secured" pop-up

Hi Don,

We're sorry for the inconvenience caused.
To further look into this & help you, we request you to share us the screenshot of the threat alert message you've been receiving.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on Answer & then click on the Image [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Note: Kindly click on "See Details" on the threat pop-up and then share us the screenshot.
Thanks in advance!

I'm experiencing a similar issue as described by another user in an earlier post:
For several days, I've been receiving the same AVG Web Shield Alert message that continues to pop up periodically, sometimes every few minutes, even tho I click Got It (sometimes there's only an "upgrade" option).
I've never knowingly visited the indicated website. I also deleted all Safari cookies & cleared cache several times. I’ve also run an AVG regular scan, with no identified threats. (A deep scan identified & uninstalled a different threat.)
My macOS: High Sierra version 10.13.6
I tried to attach screen shot but don't know what to enter in URL field.

My primary browser is Safari, which seems to be the browser that triggers the alert. But I also occasionally use Chrome. I just ran a Chrome extension safety check & nothing to report. I attached a screen shot of my current Chrome extensions.

All Chrome extensions have been in place for a long time, & this is the 1st time I've had this issue with AVG Web Shield Alerts. (Is keeping the Avast Chrome extension ok?)

Thank you for writing back to us, Don.
Does this pop-up occur only visiting the particular website or when you open Safari Browser?

I would also request you to disable the Safari browser extension and check if you get the threat detection.

Please make sure that you're having the latest version of Safari browser and AVG AntiVirus Free installed on your Mac.
Reset your web browser settings in Safari and monitor the status.

If the issue persists, please provide the below information. It would be easy for further analysis:
- Mac version
- version of AVG AntiVirus
- Safari version

We're looking forward to resolving the issue.
Thank you.

I think I found what triggers the Threat Secured alert:
In Safari, when I go to Preferences: Privacy, & then to the separate History pull-down menu & click Clear [All] History, that frequently triggers the same alert, regardless of what website I'm on.

I'm running:
MacOS: High Sierra version 10.13.6
AVG AntiVirus version 19.9 (2d2e17d91049) Virus definitions: 21072004
Safari is version 13.1.2

I know my OS & Safari are older versions. If you so advise, I'll try installing later versions of Safari & AVG.
Thanks for helping!

Hello Don.
It is always recommended to run latest version of a software for better results. I would request you to do so and let us know if the issue persists.
