I am repeatedly (50+ times) getting a threat alert for the same item "InstallerS". I can't quarantine it. I can't delete it. When I search for it in Finder, I get a listing of about a dozen files, all documents that I want to keep. I read the AVG help page and it suggested, before making an exception to submit the threat to the AVG lab as a potential "False Alarm" which I did. However, the message that I received after submitting to the AVG lab did not indicate whether I would get any reply or information. So, can anyone advise what I should do? Should I make an exception for this item? Should I delete the documents that apparently have it? Thanks for your advice.
Hello Cynthia,
We are sorry for not being clear. We can understand that you have submitted the threat detected sample through this link: http://www.avg.com/submit-sample .
If you are sure that the sample submitted is successful then we would like to inform you that you won't be getting any notification or information regarding the submitted sample.
It is the automated system and the files will be analyzed and later it will be added to the AVG virus definitions database.
