Do also let us know if you have updated AVG program.

I started a system scan on 8/5/17. Once the scan was finished, 40 threats had been identified and the system advised it was finishing. I left the computer alone to allow it time to finish. When i checked again today (8/7/17) nothing had changed. How do I get the system to take some kind of action?

Disregard. I ended up having to shut down. I restarted the scan and this time it went through and removed the threats.
