Hi. This is my TV computer, so it just has your free anitvirus, not the one I'm paying for. (It doesn't have email.) No, don't know anything about Secure Search - what would be the relevance of that?
This doesn't relate to browsers - it relates to Windows Explorer, Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center.
I can't think of anything else that would have changed in the relevant period - there wasn't a Windows update or any other programme change. That's why I thought it must have been TuneUp.
A couple of days ago, after a run of AVG TuneUp 2014, I noticed I didn't have thumbnails for the latest 3 .ts recordings I had made. When I started fiddling around with suggestions from the web I lost all the rest of the thumbnail previews for videos (but not photos). I'm assuming something was "tidied up" that made the change. I've tried removing and reactivating WMP and WMC and of course I had folder options "Always show icons instead of thumbnails" always disabled and have reset the thumbnail cache several times. Has anyone any suggestions as to what I can do to get things back to normal? The videos play without any problems. I haven't changed any registry settings as I wasn't sure what website advice I could trust. I'm running under updated W7.
Only PC TUneUp and free antivirus on this machine.
Hello Helen,
We don't think that this should have happened due to our AVG PC tuneup program.
Do you have our AVG free antivirus program installed on your PC?
Do you have our AVG Secure Search add-on installed on your browser?
Do you have this issue only on your default web browser or on all of the browsers?
Thank you for informing that you have installed our AVG PC tuneup program.
This issue might be due to AVG PC tuneup opmtimization.
We request you to restore the changes made by PC tuneup to your PC.
May I know the version of AVG PC tuneup program installed on your PC, is it 2015 or 2016?
My friend… this problem is because you are trying install an version 32bits and your O.S is 64bits
I wasn't trying to install anything when it happened - think it was just due to AVG tidying up something it shouldn't have. What did you think I was installing that would be 32 bits?
Thank you for the information.
