I tried this before as mentioned. But i did it again with same result. When I select the Mailshield certificate to import, it gives me the alert that says: "This certificate is already installed as a certificate authority." Then I click "ok" and nothing happens. If I examine the certs under authorities, I find four for verizon under the heang "Baltimore".
Certificate Name                                                            Security Device

Verizon Public SureServer CA  G14-SHA1                   Software Security Device
Verizon AKAMAI SureServer CA  G14-SHA2               Software Security Device
Verizon AKAMAI SureServer CA  G14-SHA1               Software Security Device
Verizon Public SureServer CA  G14-SHA2                  Software Security Device

I do not know if I should delete these and try importing Mailshield again or what to do?  Someone needs to call me and fix this mess. My free trial expires  in a few more days and I plan to cancel if this is not fixed. I have spent much time on an ongoing problem AVG has had for a year.  Please advise.

I decided to try one more thing. I checked the authorities certificates and found two for AVG Mailshiled listed. I deleted both because I thought one or both may be blocking the new certificate from being stored.  Then I went back and tried importing the new Mailshild cert. This time it accepted it. I completed the process and then was able to load a new email off the AOL server.  So for now, it is working again…at list until the next AVG update.  AVG needs to figure out why your software is so unstable and fix it. It should NOT be a paying customer's job to fix your problems.

Thunderbird cannot load email from aol server unless avg internet security email is turned off.  I got outgoing email to work.

1)  My AVG Internet Security was created on 4/28/2022 when I installed the latest version available on that date. User-added image

2)  Attachmwnt Figure 2 s a pdf of a screen print showing the error when I try to get my email messages, When I tried to permanently store the exception, it appeared to accept the action,  but when I tried again
to get my messages, the same error screen appeared.  If I turn off AVG web and email, I can get email messages.

3)  When I first tried to send an email, I got a similar error except it pertained to the outgoing server. But in that case,  when I tried to permanently store the exception, it DID accept the action because I am now able to send email with AVG web and email turned ON.,

4)  I think there may already be an exception stored for incoming email and Thunderbird is not accepting the new exception I tried in 2). I do not know how to delete whatever exception already exists.

Please advise. I have had MUCH trouble with this AVG. Internet Security. I used AVG Free for years on  my old HP laptop with Windows 7 and then upgraded to Windows 10. But now I have a new laptop with Windows 11 and that seems to give AVG. Internet Security FITS.  It worked fine for about two weeks after your tech guys got me going. This latest problem  started yesterday and I think it was just after an AVG update of some kind.
