Thunderbird e-mail - AVG Anti-Virus blocks OUTGOING e-mail

Update, not sure if Debug Logging was enabled on last SysTool report sent. Will redo the SysTool with Debug Logging after another issue is resolved. Now the Outlook/Hotmail server is giving a TLS error, so it isn't just 'sending' a message that is the problem, only the Junk folder downloads, then nothing else. Image attached. User-added image

It has already stopped working, it worked once for a test e-mail sent after running the repair. Now today it is hanging when trying to send a message. Maybe the automatic updates are doing something.

Just want to check, the tool generates a lot of information. Is there anything personal in that or is it just all of the specs of the computer and what is installed? I was expecting you to have a tool that would in real time see what was blocking Thunderbird from sending an e-mail.

After posting this and testing again, it looks like removing the 25, 587 and changing the smtp server to just 587 did fix the problem. It now sends e-mail without hanging.

The only option to fix AVG blocking outgoing e-mail in Thunderbird e-mail was to check the SMTP ports, for both accounts Outlook and local ISP q.com they are 587, so that is not the problem. Disabling AVG and Thunderbird will send outgoing messages. Any other settings to fix this? Have been using AVG and Thunderbird for many years without this problem.

We're sorry to hear that.

I am a relatively experienced computer user, I am very sure I can work through any steps needed to fix the problem. I would rather not do a remote session on the computer. Should I do an uninstall/reinstall next?

Is there a way to upload a completed log file or must we use the 'upload automatically' option in the tool? I was able to run the tool twice earlier to create log files, but running it with upload automatically seems to be taking very long, will it take a day or two to complete?

Hello,
Thank you for replying.
I apologize for the troble caused.
Could you confirm if you have updated AVG Internet security?
We will certainly help you out.
Thank you and keep us updated.

The same thing has happened after a full uninstall/reinstall as happened after the repair, it works ONE  time, and then the second attempt to send e-mail, it hangs. Attached is a screenshot of the error message.

Hey David. Can you please send your updates via email in the future? This is only for efficacy reasons and having all the data in one place.

I've noted all of this down, but please enable debugging, reproduce the issue, run the SysTool again, and once you do, let me know via email so we can again reach out to the developers for further investigation of this issue.

Thank you!

I would like to get the FTP working. Have you seen those error messages before? It isn't prompting for any login. It looks like it needs permission.

Thank you for writing us back.
We regret the trouble caused. We'll certainlu help you out.
We'd like to clarify that unchecking SSL is not recommended.
We've sent you an email with further details. Please check your inbox/spam folders to find the email and use it to get back to us.
Thank you and keep us updated.

I just tried the FTP as a network connection in Explorer, previously set up, and it took the file copy. I'll stop the tool /automatic send - it must have hanged.

Looking through other comments online about this issue, it appears you are working on fixing this, that it started after the latest Windows update.

Since I can still receive e-mail, I want that to be scanned. Would unchecking 'scan for ssl connections' eliminate scanning the INCOMING mail? If so, I will leave it enabled, I can 'send' e-mails from the Web Browser Interface rather than in Thunderbird. But I will still want to get the ability to send from Thunderbird working as soon as possible.

Did you read my last comment, the file should be on the FTP.

The automatic upload tool either takes several days to complete, or it was not uploading, I was able to run the file without upload in ten minutes or so.

The FTP generated errors when first set up, but as mentioned, trying it again LATER where I had created a LINK in Explorer, worked.
