My Thunderbird mail application locks up ( non-responding) about once a day. To clear it , I must hit ( Ctrl-Alt-Del). Then I either END TASK or CANCEL. That seems to work. The Thunderbird Community board suggested Windows Defender Firewall could be the problem. I do not use Defender. They then suggested I exclude Thunderbird from the AVG firewall. Any ideas? I really like Thunderbird because it is simple to use and permits one to file to folders on my c:\ drive.
