Later on I found the file on my PC hard drive, The file was copied to my USB SSD disk by Windows internal back-up application, every hour. But the file on my PC was not detected as infected by AVG.
I deleted the file on my PC hard drive and the problem disappeared.
So no problems anymore
Thanks
Jan

Hello Jan,
We would like to get some details and investigate further.
Do you refer to your external hard drive as backup unit?
Could you provide the screenshot of AVG threat detection window by clicking on "see details" from it?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
AVG secure a Threat WIN32:Malware_gen in a file on my backup unit, I delete the file in the quarantine, BUT the treat coms back, probably when the next backup runs. The file is not visible in the files listing anymore. How to get this annoying problem fixed?
Jan
Thank you for providing the screenshot.
Did you just remove the infected file from AVG Quarantine folder or did you also delete it from the SSD?
