Yesterday I found an old pc game, and I decided to play it on my computer. This game was on 3 disks, and it was from an official organization. As soon as I finished dowloading everything, my AVG popped up with a meassage saying I had a Trojan Generic Virus. I told AVG to deal with the virus, and in 2 seconds AVG told me it was gone. Is it really gone though? I went online and found some files on my computer that are apperentely trojans. So I put my computer in safe mode and ran antivirus scans. I also deleted the newely downloaded game. One scan came up with 124 info severities, but that is all. Is it possible that the trojan virus is still on my computer? How can I be sure it is gone? What can I do? Thanks, Samuel
Sorry, for the title I meant Trojan Generic Virus
You are most welcome, Samuel. Feel free to contact us for further query regarding AVG.
Thank you
Samuel,
We certainly understand your concerns. Please open AVG, click on Options and select Virus vault to check if the file is there. If it is there, please remove it from there to make sure it is neutralized.
So is it safe to switch my computer out of safe mode and stop running virus scans? I am concerned due to the fact that is indeed a very bad virus and the internet is telling me it is still on my computer.
