Hello Alison,
I understand how something like this can really try your patience.
Please be informed that AVG is detecting virus in your pc and it is removing it. It seems that you are infected daily and AVG help you in detecting and removing it. It is recommended to update your AVG on regular basis to be away from virus.
Please feel free to contact us for any further assistance. Thank you.
Hi Matt,
Thank you for that, I have since found out it is a false detection and have been told it will be fixed in the next program update.
Same issue here. My AVG placed the pseudo virus in the Virus Vault. After AVG acknowledged the false positive, I clicked Restore so the file could be put back. However, now I can't find it on my PC. (It must be there, b/c when I ran another AVG virus scan, it was detected and quarantined again. Then I hit "Restore" again.)
Questions:
1. Where am I supposed to find Windows\Assembly\NativeImages . . . System.Data.ni.dll on a Windows 7 PC?
2. What is its role, and is it needed for my PC's functioning?

Hi Aravind,
Thank you for following up on my problem. I had a tech log in and remove a file and I ran a couple of scan after he logged out and I am still getting the trojan horse backdoor generic_C being detected each time I scan.
