Trojan:JS/CoinHive.A detected by Windows Defender, Not AGV

Hi William,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Upon installing AVG, the windows protection/firewall will be disabled & AVG Firewall monitors the incoming/outgoing activities.
In this regard, initially we'd suggest you to ensure that AVG is active on your computer. To do so, you can check if the message 'You're fully protected' is displayed in mainpage of AVG program.
Also, as we're uncertain about the exact message that you received from Windows Defender, we're not in a position to comment on it.
If you receive the message again, share us the screenshot of it for better clarity.
Meanwhile, you can be rest assured that your computer would be protected against emerging threats & hackers, if AVG Internet Security is active on your computer & has the latest virus definition updates.

This morning (10/17) at boot up, I got a warning from Windows Defender (Windows Defender!) that it had detected and remedied this incursion, and I needed to restart my machine running latest version of Windows 10 x64. I was suspicious, since turning things over to AVG years ago (and updating every year since), I had NEVER gotten a warning from Windows Defender of any kind. Was this warning for real? I scanned with AVG and found nothing. Virus definitions were up to date as of 10/16.

I'm running that latest/most updated AVG Internet Security Suite. This is a serious threat! Yeah, faith is shaken that AVG will be in my future…
