Trouble Installing AVG 2016 on Windows 10 (64 bit) - Error code: 0xe001f90b

My PC was recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (64 bit).  I had AVG 2015 installed at the time of the upgrade, and am now having trouble installing AVG 2016.  I continue to get this error: "Restart required - Please restart your computer to continue. - (Error code: 0xe001f90b)".  Despite restarting, the error persists.

I have tried uninstalling all components using two install tools (AVG_Remover and avg_remover_stf_x64_2015_5501) and then reinstalling (AVG_Protection_Free_698 downloaded from this page: http://www.avg.com/us-en/download).  However, each time I continue to receive the error.
