Troubles updating virus definitions and AVG internet security (payed version)

Dear all,

the system refuses to update both. it says there is something wrong with signatures of some files.
How to solve this? Hope i don't have te reinstall everything

Thank you for the answer. I just started downloading the newest install files, and decided before reinstalling, to give the regular update by the avg update tool a last try…and it suddenly worked!!

I didn't have to reinstall or overwrite the current installation. Good to know for you, but i simply can't explain why it worked this way

This is a known issue. To fix this, please download the latest AVG version 18.2 https://www.avg.com/en-us/download.prd-gsr and start installing over the current version on your PC, no need to reinstall the program. Restart the computer after the installation & check the status.
