Just wondered what folks thought about switching off VPN when connected to my secure home WiFi. Google is split on whether it’s a good idea or not, as the network still points to the outside world to get to the internet so vulnerabilities exist.

thanks
richard

Richard, it is true that you are less prone to a man in the middle attack when connected to your home WiFi (protected with a strong password).
However, we recommend against adding your private network as trusted.
One reason would be, your internet service provider can track your web activities.

Hi Krishnan
i know how to select my home WiFi as a trusted network, my question was for your advice as to whether this action is a prudent one to take and whether a safe option.

We're glad to clarify this for you, Richard.
You can add your wifi as trusted network in AVG Secure VPN. However, please be informed that the program won't run automatically at startup, if the option 'Exclude trusted network' is enabled in Network security (AVG Secure VPN settings).
You may need to configure the settings according to your preference.
