As I stated in my initial post, there WAS no "no thanks" or X button on the pop up. I had to click on the download, and then quickly cancel/close the download window to prevent it from downloading. Your tech people need to review that popup and make sure there is an X or "no thanks" option.
I also have this problem ! NO way to close this pop-up without clicking on "try internet security now"
button . Am getting really fed up with the new look of avg, seriously looking at alternatives now.
A great shame after many years with a great product to see it go down the drain like this .
If you/ AVG are expecting us/users to uninstall and try again are you really certain that it is worth
us bothering to when it appears that you do not even read the post's properly to understand the problems that people are having with your product .
I got a big popup today, and it seems the only way to get rid of it is to click the button to try this product and download a free trial. No "no thanks" button anywhere. Can't move the popup, it's blocking my screen. Very annoying that I can't make it go away. Anyone know if this is for sure AVG, and now to get rid of it without a download of something I don't want?

Hello Martin,
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
The perfect solution to fix this issue is the complete reinstall of the AVG program.
We kindly request you to try the reinstallation using the AVG remover tool as per the instructions provided previously.
We assure you that the issue will get resolved.
Janell, thank you for the clarification. Actually the popup will have the "no thanks" and "X" option. We request you to completely reinstall and then check whether the issue persists after setting up the frequency for Marketing popup.
