Trying to change from trial to free

Hi Glen, sounds like AVG needs to work on the downgrade tool. There was a similar post two days ago: https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000D3xYAAS

Hi Alan, I used the link you gave me eariler to get to the removal tool, I didn't have a choice though, my system is 64 bit but I wasn't given any choice between the two, I've tried using the link/tool again and after another reboot tried reinstalling again from the link you gave me anddddddddd, this time it worked! I dunno it must've had a file left over or perhaps my system had a brain fart! either way it's working, avg 2015 and it's the basic version with no trial license, so many thanks for trying to help it's much appreciated.

Hey all, I recently had a pc problem and had to restore to a point before I updated from free 2014 to 15, after the restore 2014 would not work, so after using a avg unistaller tool I d/l what I thought was the 2015 free version, but after installing I get the banner at the bottom saying so many days left on the trial! under license it says, trial 1 computer, I've used the downgrader tool but there has been no difference! what do I do now to change to the free version?

Glen, Did you use the latest 32 or 64bit remover?.

Glen, Also did you disable any other protection on your system & run AVG setup as administrator (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-prepare-your-computer-for-installing-AVG)?.

Glen, Having read what you've written I think your best course of action will be to try completely uninstalling AVG by following this article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG) & then install AVG 2015 Free by using the appropriate either 32 or 64bit file, whichever suits your system, from this link (http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download-free-all-product).
