Hmm, ok, until you just said, I didn't even know there WAS an offline installer.

I downloaded it, but before I install it, just out of curiousity, what happens if you don't uninstall the old one first?

Anthony, I'm advising you to follow the instructions to get rid of everything AVG, before you attempt re-installing with the offline install file, then nothing should be there to interfere.

Anthony, Just follow the instructions. Uninstall your present AVG & re-install using the appropriate offline install file.

Anthony, Looks like your online installation may have been corrupted. Have a look @ this link (http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=234970). Also if you're not sure about 32 or 64 bit on your system have a look @ this link (http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-free-forum?sec=thread&act=show&id=140471#post_140471).
