This is happening to me too.
1) I have no other Antivirus software on my laptop.
2) Over the last 24 hours I have tried to remove AVG approx 8 times!!! Nothing works. I can't uninstall via the Control Panel and the AVG remover tool states that there are no AVG files found wven though they are sitting there on my c:\ drive.
3) AVG needs to do something about this as I think the next thing I am going to have to do is completely restore my laptop to factory settings … another day of my life wasted due tto AVG.

I had the same problem, but eventually found a way to delete it. I'm not sure if this will work for you guys, but I'll tell you what I did anyways. I just went to control panel, clicked on programs, clicked programs and features, and right clicked AVG. Instead of clicking the uninstall option, I clicked change. A window should pop up that has the option to click uninstall. Click uninstall then restart the computer after it finishes. Finally go to the files for AVG and it should let you delete them. Hop this works!
I've tried everything suggested on threads and nothing works to get rid of avg and now i cant put any other anti virus on the laptop but avg isn't working since zen. I'm telling you now - there is NOTHING zen about this!!!!!

We are sorry that you are unable to uninstall AVG from your PC and facing issue with it. Please use below instructions to run AVG Clear tool to remove AVG traces from your PC:
1. Use the link https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe to run the AVG Clear tool.
2. Open the AVG Clear tool, click Yes in the User Account control dialog.
3. Click No in the Windows safe mode dialog.
4. Select the installed version of AVG and also check the box 'Uninstall AVG Zen'. Then click Uninstall, and Restart computer.
If you still find AVG traces in your PC, please reply back here with screenshot and we are here to help you further.

I did all the above … the AVG Clear tool did not work and when I rebooted all files still there!!!
