Sometimes, this might happen due to pending windows update.
To check if this is the case, please check the programs installed on your computer (Start - Settings - Apps - Apps & features - check if AVG is listed).
If listed, check & let us know whether the usual AVG icon is displayed or a white icon is displayed.
You can also share us the screenshot of the programs list for better clarity.
yesterday january the 5th 2023 I notice in the right bottom of my screen for the avg antivirus system tray it said it was unprotected so I tried to open up the avg antivirus app but a message popped up saying sorry we crashed…so I went to the avg site to download the newest version for windows 10 on my laptop and when it was finished installing it still says sorry we crashed…so I went and uninstalled avg antivirus and I restarted my laptop then I went back to the avg page to redownload the newest version of avg antivirus it downloaded just fine but when I click on it to reinstall the avg antvirus app the free version it gets to like 50 percent complete then closes won't install all the way is that a bug in the app since it won't install all the way? is there a fix for it?
I posted in the microsoft forum of the error code for the windows update to 22H2 for windows 10 and the guy that answered sent me a link to get the windows 10 upgrade assistant so I opened that up to download the newest version of 22H2 seperately that one took a while for the 22H2 update to windows 10 but i am back on so went back to windows update to see if there was any more updates and there was so i updated them too my windows 10 is all caught up on updates 
so I tried avg antivirus free again and it got to 50 percent then it closed then it popped right back up and it started finishing the install so now I have avg antivirus free back on my laptop ty for the help

I did a clean installation with the avg clear app uninstalltion once all that was done in safe mode and my laptop reloaded I click on the link to save the new version of avg antivirus free version so while I was waiting I click on the install button to install it while it was installing it got to 50 percent then it closed wouldn't install all the way…Is that suppose to happen? or is there a bug in it is that why it closed at 50 percent and won't install all the way?

We'd like to clarify that, there is no such ongoing issue with the AVG installer.

How do you take a screen shot of it? I uninstalled the avg antvirus app since it said sorry we crashed when I unistalled the avg antivirus app in the apps & features section it said avg antivirus 2022 so I uninstalled it now I'm trying to reinstall the newest version of avg antivirus free edition one but when it installs it gets to like 50 percent complete then closes
