Hello, Tim.
Your computer's screen may use more energy even than hardware components such as the hard disk or the processor, for example. Reducing the screen brightness or turning off the screen after a short time if you are not using the computer will reduce energy consumption considerably.
Click on Settings in the menu bar of the Dashboard, selecting the Economy Mode area and clicking the 'Open Configuration Wizard' button located there. Then click on 'Moderate energy savings'. On the next page, click on the radio button against "Turn off Economy mode when Windows restarts" and click on OK and OK to save the settings. Please reboot your PC and check if the issue is resolved.
I activated Economy mode (unwisely) some time ago. I now wish to switch it off. I have selected Standard mode, hoping that economy mode would become disabled. As soon as I unplug my laptop, Economy mode starts up again and dims my screen. Its driving me made as I can only use my laptop with a power source to be able to view screen detail. Please help!
