Was trying to download another program. AVG Anti-Virus Free was shown as also ready for download. I unchecked that option. Still got the AVG product. Tried to uninstall as a user with administrative rights. Also tried to uninstall using AVG's removal tool. Neither approach worked. Still can't remove the program from the list of programs on my Windows 10 pc. Checking Task Manager show the program is suspended. Obviously, it's not active. But, I would still like to fully uninstall it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to me. I don't see the article you mention. But, I believe I found it earlier when I was trying to find a solutiion. I did use the removal tool. It came with a statement saying it could not find any active AVG program. since I later found out the program was suspended, theat might make some sense, I guess. After getting response, I went ahead and used the "run it anyway" option. That gave me results or comments. I then ran the Clear program. All I got with that was a square black box on the screen laabeled AVG Clear–and a green horizontal line dcontinually running back and forth across the box. I waited 20 minutes and nothing changed–and nao comments were offered. So, I shut it down by shutting off the PC. There was no cancel or other option to close it.
Hope this makes sense to you. To be honest with you, I've used a number of other anti virus programs in the past. I've never found one that imbedded itself so deepley that uninstalling it becomes such a pain in the ass.
