TuneUp - How does the Duplicate Finder check duplicates

Sorry for the delay in response, Ulrich.
PC TuneUp search for files/folders with the same name, the same size, and/or the exact same contents. Another algorithm is comparing the results and pairing the files.

Thanks for the answer.
Do you know what method is used to check files (not folders)?

Hello Ulrich,

I can understand your concern. A folder is considered to be duplicate in case it solely contains duplicate files. If only some files in a folder
are identical, these files will be shown in a respective category (Pictures, Music etc.), but the folder as
whole won't be shown in the scanning results dialog. Also, a folder won't be marked as duplicate if
the duplicate files it contains are set to be ignored.

How does the duplicate finder determine files are duplicates of each other?  File name, size, CRC, ??
The UI appears very poor so far. (I had a product from Hugmot that was brilliant but does not run on Win7 or higher sadly )
