I tried to open a program and it wouldn't open. I clicked on a shortcut for it, and it said windows could not find the file. I went to the directory where the file is and clicked on it and Windows said it could not find the file I had just clicked on.
I did some searching for answers and some of them pointed to the registry. I looked in the registry and noted an AVG TunUp debug entry there.
I then looked in AVG TuneUp and noted that the program was in sleep mode. It had been for quite a while without issue, but then i tried opening other programs that were in sleep mode, and none of them would open.
So nothing in sleep mode would open and any program I tried that was not in sleep mode opened with no problem.
I removed all of the programs from sleep mode and restarted. But they still would not open
I tried repairing the app and restarted and still programs that had been in sleep mode will not run.
I uninstalled TuneUp and still programs that were in sleep mode will not run.
I need to be able to run the apps.
