Turn off the nagware!

I am considering cancelling my AVG subscription altogether because I am seeing this annoying pop-up SO F**ing frequently on each of my licensed machines!  AVG has BECOME the virus.  PLEASE PROVIDE A WAY TO TURN THIS BLOODY THING OFF OR I WILL CANCEL my subscription.  This is a horrendous user experience.  I don't care if "many" of your users find them useful, that doesn't justify the nagging and disruption to the "many" of us who just find it infuritatingly intrusive.

Hello Avinash,

Thank you for your reply, but the "Share app-usage data with AVG so we may offer you upgrades or our other products" is ALREADY turned off.  I turned it off years ago.  It hasn't stopped me from getting pop-ups.  It also hasn't stopped AVG from introducing new features which then show me alarming alerts about my personal data, before telling me that if I want to do anything about the supposed problems, I will need to increase my subscription.

I've decided to turn off auto-renew, and in September, I will uninstall AVG and replace it with something else.  Dealing with things like this is a terrible waste of my time.  All I can think of is the productive things I could be doing right now.  If you are running a marketing campaign, send me an email with a clear "unsubscribe" link, like everyone else.

Hello Steven.
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. Many of our users find these offers useful. We handpick them from our own products or those of partners we feel can add to your security or digital experience.

You must be seeing the renewal request because there is a campaign offer running in your region.
Click this link (https://bit.ly/3xDJdqz) and apply the settings recommended under 'Stop offers for other products' to opt out from receiving ads.

My AVG subscription expires October 1st (103 days away.)  It's set to auto-renew.  Currently, I'm getting pop-ups EVERY DAY encouraging me to renew early.

Someone please tell me how to turn these off.  I've frankly had enough of AVG and their constant upselling events over the last few years.  If this continues, I'm cancelling the auto-renew and getting a new anti-virus vendor.

Steven, we are sorry to hear that you continue to see the pop ups though ads are turned off.
As an alternative, please consider enabling silent mode in AVG as suggested in the same article.
Regarding the addition of new features, as a paid customer, you will get all the product updates which includes some new security features sometimes. They will help protect your device from all known threats and hacking attackers.
