Two installations of AVG running

Hello R,

I understand the inconvenience.
The reason for you to have two version of AVG is because the upgrade for 2017 version happened automatically.
This version of AVG will not conflict each other and this is the not the reason for AVG to get into passive mode.
Please remove older AVG 2016 version as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1DEtNP0 and check whether AVG 2017 version is getting activated.
Please check on control panel whether other third party antivirus like McAfee or Norton installed on your PC.

So my AVG icon in the hidden icons box on the task bar has an exclamation point in it. I clicked on it to see what the issue was. It states that my AVG is running in passive mode because of multiple antivirus software running. It says that I need to uninstall one. So I checked my programs and it shows that I am running two AVG protection programs (don't know how it happened). It shows that both were installed on the same day but with different versions. One version is 2016.151.8013 the other version is 17.3.3011. My question is if these are conflicting with each other and causing AVG to be put into passive mode, which one do I uninstall. I purchased AVG Ultimate and thought it was the only Virus software I was running. Was this due to an update?? Again which do I uninstall?
