Let me preface this by saying that I have used AVG without issue for three years. The other day AVG prompted me to restart my machine and after my machine restarted, I starting getting the "UI Failed to Load" message on my Win7 machine using AVG Internet Security. I tried to restart service which did not resolve the issue. I then uninstalled AVG and re-installed but the issue continued. When I contacted Technical Support, they said this was caused by an incompatibility issue with another program on my system. Since I had not installed any other program recently I did some internet research and it appears that there is an issue with MalwareBytes and the latest version of AVG. To see if I would get a successful installation, I uninstalled MalwareBytes. The message did go away and enabled me to access the AVG interface, but when I did, it told me my security was out of date and I needed to restart. Upon restart, the message appeared again.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled AVG probably six times now and now, on the 7th try, I got a message that says I need to have administrative permissions to remove the program. Interesting, given that I am the administrator on my machine, only have one login (which is as the administrator) and am the sole user of this machine. I have waled through the 16 step instructions posted in this string, using AVG Clear and AVG Remover and this has not resolved the issue.
As it stands now, I am looking at using another anti-virus tool because I need protection and cannot get AVG to work. Such a shame because I have used AVG without incident since 2015. I would appreciate your help ASAP.
