Re-installing the program will fix the issue. Before that, please try the troubleshooting in the following article and reboot your PC once. Check if that fixes the issue.

Do you receive any error message during un-installation? If yes, share the screenshot of the same to assist you further. Let us know the operating system you use.

My AVG updated and I was asked to reboot.  When I rebooted and clicked onto the AVG Antivirus icon I received a black box with the following message:

UI Failed to Load.
This is really embarrassing
AV Service is not responding
Exit   Restart Service

I tried uninstalling AVG but it will not uninstall.
