UI failed to load

This message has been on my screen for days:  "UI failed to load.  This is really embarrassing.   Your protection is running, but the UI is having a really bad day."  What can I do about it?  Could it have anything to do with why I can't get my printer to print?  Just put in a new ink cartridge and won't print.
