I appear to have a malware issue on an older Windows XP machine, that among other things, interferes with incoming data on my wireless internet connection. I attempted to remove all AVG components, which were unable to update, and re-install them. AVG Internet Tune Up will not un-install. The un-install program runs for about three seconds and shuts down (per Process Explorer). There have been dialogue boxes asking for an Administrator Account, when the user account I am using is the owner administrator. In safe mode the un-installer says it is disabled, under either the main or a dedicated Administrator user account. I have downloaded AVG Remover and run it (including restart) in both normal and safe mode, at least ten times without success.
I am looking at a manual removal at this point. Does anyone have any other ideas, or guidance on how to pursue manual removal?

Alan, thank you for the reply.
I downloaded the TuneUp Remover from your link and ran it both in normal mode and in safe mode including the automatic restarts. Tune up is still installed per Control Panel and the TuneUp folder in program files is still intact.

Alan - TuneUp remover failed to remove the program.
I can delete the folder and all the files but there must be parts of the program in other places as well as all the registry entries. If I do that first would the remover tool may have better luck eliminating a partial installation? Is there a chance that someting else is hiding and using TuneUp as cover?
