Unable to get subscription back

I have been charged twice for my AVG subscription - the first amount of £99.99 was taken as a renewal, the details were taken from an "old" unused email address that I no longer have access to and I was unaware that the money had been taken.  The following month I paid £79.99.  When I checked my credit card statements I found the £99.99 was taken 11 December 2019 and the £79.99 was taken on 11 January 2020 (I knew about this payment). I have spent almost two hours being pushed from pillar to post by AVG and have been told that as I did not query the first payment within 30 days I couldn't have a refund but that they would extend my cover to 2023 (I have checked my account and they have done this - even although  I did not agree) . What would you do now?

Hi Jean,

I see that you have reached our AVG sales team and have extended the validity of the subscription in the correct email address.

Since the refund has passed the 30-day refund policy, we do not have the option to proceed with a refund, so we offered to merge the subscriptions.

I've also sent an email regarding the subscription details. Please respond to it for further clarifications.
