Unable to initialize the antivirus controller

Hello Martin,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. Did you uninstall AVG by dragging the icon to Trash? If so, this will not uninstall the application correctly.
Please follow these instructions to uninstall AVG Antivirus for Mac and then re install it:

Run the AVG AntiVirus for Mac.
Click the AVG AntiVirus Menu bar, and then click Uninstall AVG AntiVirus.
Click Uninstall AVG AntiVirus.
Follow the AVG AntiVirus Uninstaller to finish the uninstallation process.

Hi, does anybody know, why I am not able to start the AVG antivirus on Mac so I could have the real-time protection and scan my computer as well? It always gives me an error unable to initialize antivirus controller. I have already tried to reinstall however without any success. I am using Macbook Air with OS X 10.11.1

Hi Avinash,

thank you, however I have followed the regular uninstall as described by AVG, not only moving to the trash.
