Jan, AVG license number or product key consists of 6x5 upper-case letters. When typing the license number into AVG, you can use both upper or lower case characters.
The easiest way to enter the license number is to copy the number from the purchase confirmation email or from the license retrieval email, and paste it into the activation dialogue. For help with copying and pasting please see this article (http://avgclick.me/1GBmfmK).
When your license number or product key is not accepted by AVG, please do the following:
Visit (http://www.avg.com/lost).
Fill in the email address that you used when purchasing AVG, and the verification code. Then click Continue.
You will shortly receive an email with a list of all your AVG products and their license numbers.
Use the license number from this email to activate your AVG.

I have just downloaded AVG Internet Security and following the instructions. Get to the initial screen where it asks me to either Continue or Customise. Click on Continue and it asks me put in my License Number, but I can't copy and paste it, and when I type it in, after the second letter tells me it is an incorrect Licence Number.
Can someone please advise me.

In the main screen, first element "Computer" "AntiVirus" says "Update Required". Click on Fix Now and it installs updates then error message is "Update Failed - You Are Not Protected"
All is well now - thank you for your help on both matters.
Seem to have spent a lot of time trying to fix one bug or another since downloading Windows 10, but all seems to be working OK now.
