Unable to install

I suspect my problem is not specifically an AVG related one, but rather due to a viral
infection. But I'm hoping someone might be able to help.

After downloading AVG Protection_Free_1606 to the hard drive, I receive the following dialog box message:

>User Account Control
>Do you want this app to make changes to your device?
>AVG Setup Self-Extractor based on 7-zip
>Verified Publisher: AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o.
>File origin: Hard drive on this computer
>Show more details
>To continue, enter an admin user name and password
>(Box with a 'No')

This dialog box doesn't have provision for entering the asked for username
or password. You are allowed only select the 'No' or by closing the box itself by
clicking the 'X' at the top. Because this occurs on the darkened 'permissions'
screen, I am unable to screen-capture this for you. This 'lock-out' is occurring
whenever I try to make any other change as well, ie. it's not specific to AVG.

I recently changed to the 'Avira' Anti-virus and was attempting to change back
to AVG when this occurred. I've not yet contacted them, as I wanted to quit them
and go back to you. I'm not (yet) accusing them of being responsible for this, but
I do suspect malicious activity as being the cause. Whoever did this doesn't want
me change anything for fear I'd upset what they've done. That's just a suspicion,
but I don't know how else to explain it.

I'd appreciate any help or advice. I'm truly sorry I ever left AVG.
