There is a red cross on my AVG icon telling me that I am unprotected, but AVG will not open to enable me to see what the problem is.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem, because I can see that others are asking the same question?

Please let us know if you've recently updated your Windows & share us the screenshot of the system tray icon that has red x on it.
Sometimes, this might happen if few services are unable to initiate. In this regard, please try repairing the AVG program once to check if it helps.
