Unable to login to bank site

Hello Harry,

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Could you please try to update the AVG Internet Security program once and check whether you are still unable to login with bank website?

URL for bank is Home | Banc of California

I am not able to log into my bank's web site. I get the following error message from AVG:This website has been marked as a phishing site. Phishing is an attempt to steal sensitive information from you like passwords, credit card numbers, etc. The web site login address is Home | Banc of California. I am able to log in on my Android device and my IOS device, bot of which have AVG installed, but not with Windows 7. I've called my bank's IT department and they say they have contacted AVG regarding the issue. What's going on?

I have not only updated my AVG several times. I completely uninstalled the program, reinstalled it and did an update to confirm that I have the latest version. None of that made the problem go away.

Thank you for writing back to us, Harry.

Please submit the Bank URL to our developers for analysis.

Click this link (https://www.avg.com/en-ww/false-positive-file-form) to submit the form. Our developers will check and get back to you as soon as possible.

Until then you can add this website to the Exceptions.

AVG Internet Security >> Menu >> Settings >> General >> Exceptions

I have gone to "settings", clicked on "Exceptions" and added the URL for the login a my bank. After adding the exception I tried to log into the bank's web site and still get the same error message. That's rather odd, isn't it?

In this regard, you may need to wait till the concerned team analyse the site, Harry. Meanwhile, we'd request you to access the site from other devices.

I have tried Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. Same result with all of them using Windows 7 operation system. However, no problem using Safari on my iPad which also has AVG protection. The version of AVG on my desktop is 21.5.3185 (build 21.5.6354.679)

Thank you for clarifying, Harry.
We've submitted a false positive request on your behalf. A group of analysts will review the site & whitelist it, if it is found to be safe or goes through the clean notes of AVG. You'll receive the update via email from them.
In the meantime, you can add the site to exceptions as mentioned here on your desktop & continue using it.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
