Hi Lindsay,
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
There was an issue with the recent release (version 20.1), which has been fixed by our developers. To apply the fix to your computer, we request you to reinstall AVG TuneUp.
As it isn't recommended to share the license info over this post, we've sent you the activation code via email.
Thanks.
I have applied a fix as suggested by Michael Jacquin in AVG Community
After using Tuneup all my Office files and pdf's are no longer accessible from my user profile. Other files such as images, videos, music are all accessible.
Running Win7.

Lindsay, it is a work around. However, our developers have already released a fix through program update of AVG TuneUp.
You will not experience this issue again.
Hi Lindsay Gordon,
Glad to read that you managed to fix the issue.
BTW, the fix which AVG said was available does NOT work and causes other problems (eg, memory increase, permissions issues, etc) which you might experience eventually.
I have decided to uninstall all AVG products and switched over to a competitor as this incident is indicative of a more serious problem with AVG products.
All the best.
Michael
Thanks.

We are sorry to know that, Lindsay.
We assure you that this will not happen in future.
We would be happy if you consider to use AVG products again.
Thank you.
