We could not find AVG Driver Updater on the account that you use for posting on community. If you have registered on a different account, please let us know. We will send an email and collect the details to locate the subscription.
Please refer this article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=AVG-Restart-Windows-Safe-Mode) and try to boot your laptop into safe mode.
Once you are able to boot in safe mode, please check whether you are able to get into "device manager".
Press Windows and R keys together and type as "devmgmt.msc" without quotes and hit enter.
From device manager, navigate to display category and in the drop down, select the display driver and try to roll back the driver by right click -> Properties - Driver" tab.

I recently updated the drivers on my laptop. Since then after I turn on the laptop I've been unable to to pass the first screen to get to the log on screen. I can see the battery charging and internet connection ICON on this first screen but cannot go beyond this first screen.
