Unable to Register Internet security

I received a copy of AVG Internet Security from a 3rd party, when I was having problems with Quicken.
AVG Internet Security shows a version of 2125.0.5863, and license expiration date of 2/25/2018.
However, when attempting to register with AVG, the message is that the license is invalid.
What to do???
