Sorry to hear that you have received an error message when trying to repair AVG. This error code occurs when the old traces of AVG program conflicts with the new version. So, please click on the below link to run AVG remover tool :
http://files-download.avg.com/util/tools/AVG_Remover.exe to completely uninstall AVG older version traces from your PC. Once you done with the remover, please don't restart your computer.
Download and run AVG Clear tool: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe. This tool will help with removing antivirus component of AVG 2017 and its traces.
Open tool
User Account control - click "Yes"
Windows safe mode - click "No" (we cannot recommend use the tool in safe mode, because there is a problem with compability)
Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security)
Click "Uninstall"
Click "Restart computer".

Abirami, I followed your instruction on my computer and it did not solve the problem.
Here is the Error Code:  0xc0070643: general error (0x0643).

The Product Version is 2016.151.8013

Is this product is outdated?  Perhaps Microsoft screwed up the updating??

Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the C drive and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually and click the following link http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Ultimate_1827.exe to install AVG Ultimate updated version.
